The Chelsea 890 Series Power Take-Off, part number 890XBFJW-B5XV or 890XBFJWB5XV, is a hydraulic hot-shift PTO engineered for Allison 3000 MD and 4000 HD Series transmissions. It mounts via a 10-bolt pattern at the side of the transmission and positions the pump output to the rear, tucking the housing tightly against the transmission to improve clearance between the pump and the frame rail. The SAE C ("XS") output shaft uses Wet Spline Technology to reduce wear on both the PTO and pump shaft in demanding, continuous-duty cycles. The Chelsea 890 Series is a single-unit PTO - not a PTO with a bolt-on extension. The one-piece main shaft eliminates the input splines that would otherwise exist between the PTO body and the output extension, reducing a common wear point. The clutch is positioned at the rear of the unit so the housing and gear section sit tightly against the transmission, maximizing available clearance for pump installation between the transmission and the frame rail. An additional support bracket at the rear of the transmission supplements the standard side-mount attachment. The 890 Series can be ordered for transmissions equipped with or without a cooler, a retarder, or both.
